We’ve had an exciting first day back after half term because we started our new Learning Experience.

Following a fantastic topic last half term focused on ‘Adventures New’, we are now off on a new adventure that started with a BANG… or maybe it was a CRASH?!

On Tuesday afternoon, Year 5 gathered together to watch a strange video message received by the teachers which appeared to show a young boy who was in a spot of trouble! We set out to try and help him by working in teams from across the classes, locating various items from around the school grounds, all of which appeared to be from some sort of space ship.

We still haven’t found out what our new Learning Experience is called, but we’ve definitely found some clues!

Hooked on a new adventure.
Year 5 launched their new learning experience this week by becoming detectives. Within each class the children worked in teams to solve Mathematical, English and Geographical based challenges. On the completion of a task the team would search for a qr code where a message was encrypted. When each encryption was recorded the children received a piece of a puzzle. The six clue and six puzzle pieces all gave snippets of information which allowed the children to discover the title of the book they would be studying and the authors name. Brilliant team work was seen across the three classes!
